Black beads fleck the surface of the hood, reflecting the overhead streetlights back into the infinity of night. Looking down at the seat next to him, his nostrils flare and flex while his eyes take in the bag. The contents were never explained to him, yet he knew he was standing at the precipice of something bigger.
Drug Runner 84. A life of crime was calling him. Daddy was a drug dealer. Midnight Drop (Spectre Run). Sweat soaked and silent, he proved his worth for the business with an hour of his time and 15 years off his life. Florida Snow Delivery Service. His mask became the key to his success, before it became entirely transparent. Taste the White Lady. Months went by, but the bright lights called him in. The girls closed the door. The night took him over.
Consequences. When the sun rose, his awareness increased. He knew how the path could end and he remembered the goal. Room 207. When a job went bad, his blood mixed with theirs and leaked into the hallway. 5 more years of his life lay limp and lifeless, broken open on the floor. Future. It called but he couldn’t see past the fog around him. Like the moon through the forest branches, she reached down to him and showed him another possibility.
Find a way out. He promised himself an exit. three years of business had turned into a dangerous game. He longed for release but… No exit. His fate was sealed and he was down to a half lung full of air. Everything was taken from him at the moment he believed he was free: his money, wife and unborn child. The truth of his fate was a curse cast on his mind. He knew he was just a puppet.
South Beach 86. Two years have passed and nothing has changed. The low red sun cast long shadows across the meeting place as his mind engineered a plan to take what he deserved.
